It looks like DHE support was added in commit SHA
f1aec358f45207d9e3f20ffb972e32aa087078b0 (TS-2417) in 5.2.
I think the explanation that [~zwoop] refers to above is to ensure
compatibility within minor versions by turning off DHE by default.
