That was an artifact of an attempt to clean up some of the copying done when an
SSL NetVC is created. Rather than copying data (such as
{{transparent_passthrough}}) there would be a pointer to the accept object
which has all of that information. Probably OK to take out for now but we need
to come back to this at some point.
