yes, pivot and pivot_group has the same functionality as group_concat.
pivot is not externalized yet as it has not been completely tested.
There is also an outstanding issue related to parallel execution of
that function.
It was initially developed for limited use.
If it is to be externalized, more testing and fixes need to be added.
