A timeout can be configured in Spark for unregistering shuffles called `spark.rss.client.unregister.request.timeout.sec`. However, this timeout applies to all requests executed concurrently. Given a small thread pool size and many servers, the effective timeout for individual requests becomes a fraction of this. ### How should we improve?
