Currently we're using Prometheus 0.9.4, which is a bit old.
The newer version has enhanced runtime metrics collection & other features (see
releases: https://github.com/prometheus/client_golang/releases). However
versions above 1.x have breaking changes and it's likely that we have to modify
YK as well. The latest version is 1.12.x, which we should consider as an
upgrade target. But it's also very new, so let's wait until it becomes stable
enough and upgrade to a stable 1.12.x.
