I'm testing out mbsync to backup and restore my gmail. The only major
glitch I've ran into so far is that when I restore my email (i.e. push
it up to gmail) the date/time display in gmail's summary view is set
to the date and time I used mbsync to perform the push. However in
gmail's individual message view the correct original email date is
shown. What really makes this annoying is that gmail date searches
use the incorrect upload date/time.

This problem isn't unique to mbsync. Evolution and Kmail also have
this problem when they upload emails to gmail via imap. However,
other clients (like Thunderbird and offlineimap) work ok (i.e. the
correct original email date/time stamp is shown everywhere). It's
even part of gmail's imap faq here:
http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=82365&topic=12922
so it sounds like gmail may provide a fix someday. Any change mbsync
will join the elite list of imap clients that can give gmail the
correct date & time?

Now for something completely different. Is the project name ever
going to be changed to mbsync? IMHO the isync name doesn't provide
much value to a newbie. Just try googling for "isync" and see how
many non-apple results you get. :)
