I am not likely to find the time to re-work this for head in the near future, but I will bear it in mind next time I get a supply of round tuits in. For what it's worth, I believe the code with my patch deals with the delimiter issue and automatically creating and syncing new folders correctly. (At any event, it appears to work for me, maybe I just got lucky with Dovecot/DBMail being generous in their behaviour when I reference a previously non-existent folder.)
