the thing is that your messages don't have an empty body - they have no
body at all. even when the body is empty, the header should be
terminated by an empty line.
it wouldn't be particularly hard to make this code do something
reasonable under these circumstances (maybe your patch is sufficient - i
didn't check), but i originally added it as a guard for "something is
clearly wrong".
how are you getting these messages?
