I'm in the same boat -- syncing a few hundred thousand messages from gmail after a move from POP to IMAP, and "at some point" looks like a month or more into the future. A cron job isn't even that practicable, as mbsync often doesn't return cleanly after a socket error. Can you elaborate a bit on PipelineDepth (what does that actually do?), or other possible solutions to this? Is there a way to "throttle" updates from my end, so that gmail doesn't freak out and cut me off? I'm also doing these updates from inside China, so I've got both "connection instability" and gmail to contend with...
