What is it, if it is not a cache ?

Can't it be possible to imagine a "rebuild mode" for this state file ? 
If no, is it just difficult to do it, or even impossible due to the way 
this file is builded ?

My original question was : could it be possible to rebuild this file if 
the channel is on a 1-way mode ?

If not, imapsync seems to be the only software that allow stateless 
imap account synrhonization... Isn't it surprising ?
