I am looking for a Windows tool that can be used to create daily backups
of a Gmail account to Maildir format. I am basically looking for a
one-way sync, Gmail → Maildir. When a new dail backup is made, then:

  * New messages should be downloaded.

  * Messages that were deleted on the server should also be deleted in
    Maildir. (one-way synchonization!)

It’s basically what some mail client do. Only it should be possible to
automate the process.

Questions:

  * Is isync the right tool, or is it overkill (as I only need one-way
    sync)?

  * Does is run natively on Windows (without Cygwin)?

  * Does it work well with Gmail IMAP?
