Hey there!

I am running FreeBSD 11.1 with isync-1.2.1_1 (the current version
available as package).

My emails are in an account by posteo.

Now I'd like to do a regular Backup of my Mails and thought isync/mbsync
could be the right choice.

My .mbsyncrc looks like this:

#-------
IMAPAccount posteo
Host <HOSTNAME>
User <MYUSERNAME>
SSLType IMAPS

IMAPStore posteo-remote
Account posteo

MaildirStore posteo-local
Path ~/Mails/posteo/
Inbox ~/Mails/posteo/inbox/

Channel posteo
Master :posteo-remote:
Slave :posteo-local:
Pattern *
Create Slave
Remove Slave
Sync Pull
Remove Slave
CopyArrivalDate yes
SyncState *
#----------

I created the folder and started the sync using 'mbsync -a'.
The sync started and I hope it synced all mails.

During sync it said a a lot of times the following:
Maildir notice: no UIDVALIDITY, creating new.

I hope this is no Problem.

If I start syncronisation again I get the following warning:
Warning: channel posteo: master inbox cannot be opened and slave inbox not empty.

I don't know what I should think about this? Is it a Problem?

If i delete a folder on the remote machine I get the warning
Warning: channel posteo: master Archiv/Testfolder cannot be opened and slave Archiv/Testfolder not empty.

This warning is displayed in all future syncs.

I don't really know how to handle these messages. In past tries I also
had the messages:
IMAP error: unable to parse INTERNALDATE format
Warning: message 6626 from master has incomplete header.
and
Error: channel myacc: master inbox cannot be opened.

The structure of the folders is little strange, but I think it is
normal. The first level of folders is named without leading dots. The
second and later layers have a leading dot (making them invisible). But
I think this is Maildir behaviour, isn't it?

I really hope you can tell me what those messages mean and how to handle
them to get a reliable backup!

Thanks
