no, but you need to exclude trash & deleted items from the patterns when you use mbsync's trash functionality. i'll also note that it is weird that you specified a trash folder in the local store.

run mbsync -a -l to see what mailbox pairs it's trying to sync.
latest when you add -DM it should be obvious why it's doing that.

if you can't figure it out, you'd need to describe what *exactly* you want to achieve (folder layout on both ends).
