Sorry, I forgot to add this piece of information: I tried MaxSize a while
ago (say MaxSize 25m) but mbsync still errored at a message which had an
attachment of 30+MB (this is still happening; I tried removing the .journal
file or removing the sync state file and the folder on the target IMAPStore
altogether). However, seeing your reply, I did a little digging, and it
seems that some other large messages were indeed skipped (but not replaced
by a placeholder message as the documentation indicates). Looking at one of
them, in the sync state files there is a line like "278 0 ^`".

Is there a way to get more debug info than `-V`?
