Yes. Sending a single CAPABILITY request immediately after login to iCloud IMAP
is all that’s required to make their proxy transparent again.
ok, then a workaround seems in order.
manual activation seems like a bad idea (as most users wouldn't figure
it out), so i wonder what condition to base it on. CAPABILITY
XAPPLEPUSHSERVICE would be the right thing if this was specific to
exactly this server software ... which it apparently isn't, as apple's
patched dovecot and yahoo both support it as well. that leaves us with
matching imap.me.com for the host, which is an ugly hack, but fair
enough.
