Thank you for the suggestions. This Schrödinger message kept disappearing and coming back (now it’s gone for good). I managed to connect to the imap server directly when it was there, and I observed that it was completely empty, that I could not set flags on it (I tried to set the Deleted flag), and that expunging would make it go away (temporarily). I also played with some email clients to identify the message, and it seems it was a leftover from a calendar invitation. In any case all seems well now. Best, Alan
