Position:Info Security Analyst Intermediate
Location:Cranston, RI (Locals Preferd)
Start Date:ASAP
End Date: 7+ months
$47.00 per hour
The Information Security Technical Analyst will evaluate security events & logs
from a number of computing platform and provide analysis and interpretation of
the results. This individual will work with team members to identify potential
risks, suspicious activities, and policy violations to help mitigate and
minimize security-related threats as required.
. Monitor security events on a daily basis for suspicious activities and
identify potential security threats and violations.
. Respond to activities deemed to be improper or in violation of Information
Security policies.
. Perform audits of user account provisioning for potential security threats
and violations.
. Investigate, validate and help mitigate security alerts based on their
priority.
. Provide status and trending reports on a regular basis.
. Assist with security events tuning working toward achieving reduction in
"false positives".
. Provide efficient, high quality support to ensure timely response,
resolution, and escalation of security issues.
. Maintaining high level of confidentiality
. Successfully managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
. Communicate effectively with non-technical business owners helping them
understand risk and security options.
. Take initiative in finding solutions to difficult and/or sensitive problems.
Technical Knowledge:
Windows XP, Vista workstation
Windows 2000/2003 Server
Unix\Linux
Microsoft Active Directory
Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
2-3 years of information security hands on technical experience.
Ability to handle multiple priorities, make decisions and exercise sound
judgment.
Information security certification - CISSP or Security + desired.
