Location: Bellevue, WA Duration: 5 Months Rate: $60-65/hr Perform in a lead engineering capacity for various UNIX and SAN consumer based wireless data/network deployments. Mentor other team members on engineering task such as design, integration, performance measurement and analysis, growth, and testing. Deploy platform hardware infrastructures, software standards, and system parameters. Work with various groups and T-Mobile markets to ensure project milestones are met and hardware/platform related problems are resolved. Work with vendors to ensure product specifications, accuracy of implementation and quality of operations. Work with Systems Integration teams to insure the completion of ''hands-on'' testing and verification of all features and functions that our UNIX/Linux/Windows and SAN platforms provide. Assist in training other departments on service and data platforms and provide technical support during product launches. Document new hardware platforms, operating systems, designs, and standard operating procedures. 4-year technical degree or equivalent. Candidate should have a minimum 5 years of experience in the UNIX and SAN industry and at a minimum of 3+ years experience working with Solaris and Linux platforms Candidate must have demonstrable skills in performance and capacity management for platforms and SAN networks. Additional formal training with Sun, HP and Veritas desired. Additional formal training in Hitachi, McData and Cisco fiber switches a plus. The candidate should be comfortable and experienced with ''hands-on'' access to UNIX/Linux and SAN platforms and networking in areas such as LAN/WAN, SAN switching technology network backup strategies, and data protocols. Specific knowledge with Sun and HP hardware is required. Specific knowledge in Red Hat and Solaris Operating Systems, McData and Cisco Switches, DHCP, DNS, HP hardware, ADIC, Veritas Volume Manager and Net-Backup strongly preferred. Proven organizational and communications skills are absolutely required. Candidate must be comfortable working independently. Candidate must also be comfortable with technical reference documents for SAN and UNIX hardware and software systems. Strong project management ability and additional levels of experience in other support areas and a functional discipline Demonstrated communication and collaboration skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and multi- task. Experience interacting with technical and non- technical personnel is required.
