Location: Frederick, MD Duration: 6+ Months Rate: $45/Hr Best Face to Face may be required. Locals ONLY. Description: The location is Frederick, MD. This position interacts with equivalent levels of internal customers and some external vendors. That interaction requires excellent oral communication and customer service skills in identifying needs and problems and implementing efficient solutions that satisfy customers. Effectiveness in this role also requires thorough working knowledge of the assigned customers automated operations, computer platform(s) and relevant programming languages. The incumbent works on problems of diverse scope and moderate to high complexity requiring analysis of various factors. Additional essential functions include: Analyze existing or proposed systems for the assigned customer group(s) and formulate logical procedures, systems specifications, flowcharts and processes, coding, testing, debugging and working parameters to ensure effective use of application programs and their compatibility with other systems. Design and code software according to specifications. Work with customers to develop conversion and implementation plans, and provide programming and other technical support to ensure smooth program implementation. Document new or existing programs, and recommend and document changes in development, maintenance and system standards. Troubleshoot more difficult application program problems and recommend and/or implement solutions, upgrades and training. SKILLS: At least seven years related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience) with at least five years programming background. Thorough working knowledge of applicable application programs including Microsoft Visual Basic 6 and Visual Studio .Net, as well as operating systems and Oracle databases required. Additional required skills include process mapping, requirement documentation, and test case documentation. Excellent problem solving and customer service skills and attention to detail needed. EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline Preferred. Technical training or certification in related programming languages and/or application programs preferred.
