Job Title: Storage Support Specialist Position Type: Full Time / Contract - W2 / Contract to Hire - W2 Work Authorization: US Citizen / Green Card / EAD / TN Location: Torrance CA Duration: 3 Months (May be extended up to 6 Months) Rate Cap / Pay rate: Open Start Date: Immediate Project Details & Requirements: * Must be very experienced on all facets Tape Mainframe Management on: - IBM Virtual Tape (Ts7740 & 3584) storage (High Level experience) * Tape Systems: IBM TS7740 virtual tape system in a GRID configuration with IBM 3584 Library with TS1120 tape drives * Software: Very knowledgeable in IBM7740 software, operational & diagnostic, IBM Utilities (DFHSM, DFDSS, SMS routine changes, SMF) and CA1 TMS Tape Management Systems * OS Catalog Management * Must have 12- 20 years experience in supporting IBM mainframe tape systems in a SYSPLEX environment * Familiarity with SMF records and other management facilities is required * Must be able to work with a strong team, through significant collaboration, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills * Must be able to work with minimum supervision once assignments, requirements, and schedule have been communicated and understood * Previous tape conversion, retention migration, and tape library relocation projects experience will be a significant asset * Familiarity with SAS software will be an asset * Experience in moving a large data center is a significant asset. Comments / Other Skill: * Must be available for work hours that cross the 7x24 spectrum * Significant weekend work * Significant night work * Travel is less that 10% of the time & some occasional travel may be required.
