Position: Web Developer

Location: Arlington, VA

Duration: 6+ Months 

Rate: $45/Hr Best

 

Face to Face is required.  Prefer locals.

 

Job Description:

 

This is a part time position. Hours will range between 25-30. Could go higher 
in some weeks because of work load. The candidate will consult with clients and 
other project team members to design build and manage .Net web sites. Develop 
and implement customer/clients needs into new features and new services. Relies 
on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. 

REQUIRED SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS: 


Posting and formatting new content.


Reformatting/updating existing content.


Working with all departments to ensure accuracy and currency of all content.


Reformatting/editing of video for web delivery.


Translate prototypes and PSDs into launch-ready, validating XHTML/CSS. 

 

Integrate final markup into ASP.NET and legacy Classic ASP backend, creating 
and manipulating Controls as necessary.


Collaborate with Product Manager, web designers and software engineers to 
ensure design vision is maintained and final markup is standards compliant.


Create and maintain templates using XHTML / CSS / XML / XSL / VBScript / 
ASP.NET controls.


Work with designers, and software developers to migrate pages from Classic ASP 
to ASP.NET, and convert tag-soup pages to standards compliance.


Tackle troubleshooting and maintenance as needed.


Deep understanding of HTML 4.01, XHTML, CSS to level 2, JavaScript.


Experience integrating server-side logic (ASP.NET Controls, Classic ASP) into 
markup, and vice-versa.


Ability to create and modify ASP.NET Master Pages and controls.


Skilled at building table-free layouts using semantic markup and CSS.


Willingness to handle both large projects and small tasks as needed.


Enthusiasm and excellent communication skills.


Ability to multi-task and manage several projects at once.


Eager to learn new technologies.


Balance of technical and creative skills.


Proficiency in Photoshop, (Flash & InDesign a plus).


Advanced knowledge in: web usability, navigation, and accessibility concepts; 
user interface design; information architecture; web design, color, and 
typology principles.


Knowledge of Standard Web development tools (Code editors, FTP, Web server 
systems, etc.)
