As a Build/Deploy Engineer, you will be responsible managing and executing the
day-to-day application builds activities
for wCRM/CKC. You will plan, design, develop and document reusable scripts that
will ensure repeatability for
our application builds and deployments. You will also assist with the
configuration management process for transferring application-related
changes between the development environments. You will provide daily technical
support to all development teams throughout all phases of
the software development life cycle. You will also assist with the development
and maintenance of the Build/Release Management website.
Responsibilities:
. Implement application builds using large-scale multi-platform systems
. Research and conduct complex design and analysis of automated build systems.
. Develop and implement automated unit tests into build system.
. Work closely with Development and Release Management to solve complex build
system issues.
. Rational Clearcase and Clearquest system administration
. Work with application infrastructure architects to establish the physical
environments to effectively perform the software builds and deployments with an
emphasis on quality, integrity, and security.
Qualifications:
. Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience or specialized training) in
Information Technology (IT) or related discipline
. Minimum of 3 years relevant software build and deployment work experience
. Working knowledge of core development technologies and how to deploy these
technologies
. Proficiency in any scripting language on Unix or Windows
. Knowledge of version and revision control practices and procedure
. Experience using build tools such as Cruise Control and ANT
. Experience in using Rational ClearCase /ClearQuest required
. Effective communication skills, both oral and written a must
. Ability to work under pressure in a multi-task environment
looking for someone who can do NANT scripting/Engineer type person - also knows
a bit about building with Clearcase tools to build code - also looking for
someone to automate some of the manual steps in order to get a build into the
various environments. .Net Code and on the DB side it's SQL Server code.
Knowledgeable of Cruise Control to pull in scripts to deploy
Windows Environment
IIS - turn and off services
research from a triage perspective
NANT extremely important because they have XML files that drive components and
put values into scripts to make them run in one environment as opposed to
another
ANT is a plus
Windows Engineer with NANT scripting and a background in deploying software
releases in a complicated environment
