*Job Description:*
The system consists of a SharePoint front-end, MS-Excel templates and other
spreadsheets, MS-Access, and reporting. The SharePoint site is very robust
and includes multiple document libraries, cascading levels of user
permissions, upload and download functionality, SharePoint lists, and
reports.

Perform software development and maintenance tasks assigned under the
guidance of Company management. These tasks will include:

Production support of an installed Microsoft-Office based system that
includes SharePoint, MS-Access and MS-Excel, using both native SharePoint
and VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) technologies.

Correct issues reported in production system.

Work with Client technical staff, including network engineers and database
administrators, to analyze and improve system performance.

Use the Company's version control system, Visual SourceSafe, to manage
software code.

issues.

Adhere to the Company's standard Software Development Life Cycle.

Development and implementation of new or modified business functionality:

Update technical design based upon new requirements.

and conform to the technical design.

Perform unit-level testing of modified components.

Correct issues found during system and user acceptance testing.

Create other technical documentation, including user and administrator
guides and configuration management plans, as requested.

Use the Company's version control system, Visual SourceSafe, to manage
software code.

Proposed resource should possess a minimum of three years' hands-on software
development experience in the following technologies:

Non-trivial experience with Excel is important because some features like
pivot tables and advanced filtering are being used. Another important skill
is SQL. In Access we are dynamically building a number of SQL queries for
both the invoicing and reporting. An understanding of SharePoint is also
important although a skilled technical resource should be able to get
up-to-speed on SharePoint in a few weeks with proper training (Microsoft has
a good online training program for this). In the "nice-to-haves" column, I
would also include Reporting/Dashboarding/BI and basic knowledge of the
Pilot Program.

 Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications

Microsoft SharePoint (version 3.0)

Microsoft SQLSever 2005

Microsoft Excel, including experience building pivot tables, advanced
filtering and custom macros

Microsoft Access, including experience in dynamically building SQL queries

Proposed resource should also possess good written and verbal communication
skills, be able to prepare both technical documents (for example, design
specifications) and non-technical documents (for example, meeting minutes,
change impact analysis).
