Position: Classic ASP .Net with Strong SQL server2000/2005 exp.
Location: Coon Rapids, MN
Duration: 6 + Months
Rate: $35-37on W2 and on $40-42/hr Max 1099 .
MUST BE LOCAL TO MN AND MUST HAVE GREEN CARD OR EAD OR BE A CITIZEN. THIS IS A
CONTRACT TO HIRE. Contact duration is 6 months.
NEED A HEAVY C# PERSON. I NEED A STRONG SQL DATABASE DEVELOPER WITH SOME
CLASSIC ASP WEB DEVELOPMENT SKILLS. tHE CLIENT MIGHT MOVE TO .NET IN THE
FUTURE BUT NOT RIGHT AWAY. IF SOMEONE HAS DONE A CONVERSION FROM CLASSIC ASP TO
.NET, THAT SHOULD BE A PLUS.
NOTES FROM THE MANAGER:
I understand the desire to not work with classic asp any longer, it's not a
large part of the job right now anyway. We have a php built website too but
again, not going to involve much time. We aren't developing in classic asp,
just maintaining existing sites, which will move to .net once we have someone
that has the time and competence to do it. The bigger issues are strong sql and
DTS and SSIS skills.
The primary responsibility will be to be my backup. So classic asp, vba , DTS,
and SQL2k/SQL2k5 experience is imperative. They'll be trained on our data mart,
how to use and troubleshoot our dts packages that load the DM etc. We also have
some SQL2k5 stuff including a few SSIS packages. They'll need to be very good
with T-SQL as well.
Desktop development is non-existent here. It's all web based. (currently
classic asp). They will also get trained on our intranet and collaboration
deployments of MOSS 2007 so previous SharePoint experience, preferably 2k7,
would be a bonus.
If they have any exposure to BizTalk it would be helpful too, but I won't push
it.
POSITION SCOPE AND PURPOSE:
This position has primary responsibility for the programming development and
support of the Business Objects application and secondary responsibility for
help desk support, the data mart, and both of the Possis websites.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide both technical and business programming support for
applications. This includes working with business users to define their
reporting and analysis requirements, developing or modifying ETL processes.
2. Takes the lead on the development of a new and existing applications
including existing websites, integrations and databases. Once operational,
maintain, enhance, and promote the tools.
3. Work with business users to troubleshoot questions regarding report
data accuracy.
4. Resolves reported hardware/software problems in a timely and efficient
manner.
5. Enters and maintains all problems and projects in I.T. tracking
software solution.
6. Provide secondary support for the data mart. This includes tracing data
from the source systems to the data mart when troubleshooting data
discrepancies, incorporating new data into the data mart, and more.
7. Provide secondary support for Possis websites. This includes the
maintenance and enhancements of web pages along with the update of all content.
8. Leads smaller projects under the direction of the I.T. Development and
Integration Manager.
9. Keeps team members and business users informed of schedule, cost,
changes, issues and risks.
10. Helps support the I.T. strategic plan.
11. Responds to and resolves emergency off-hours computer support calls as
appropriate.
12. Ensures customer satisfaction during each business user interaction.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
The position requires a two-year associates degree (four year degree preferred)
in business, information systems, or computer science, or equivalent
experience. Relevant continuing professional business education will also be
required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
The position requires a minimum of five (5) years progressive I.T. experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
1. Demonstrated expertise in programming using VB/VBA.
2. Knowledge of basic Web development tools such HTML, Classic ASP.
3. Expertise in database tools such as SQL Server and DTS and SSIS.
4. Solid understanding of general business concepts, knowledge of the
medical device industry and working in a manufacturing environment
5. Demonstrated ability to quickly problem solve while finding creative
solutions to meet hardware and/or software requirements.
6. Knowledge of MS XP, MS Office 2003/2007, Dell desktops and laptops,
etc.
7. Ability to handle multiple projects and support questions
simultaneously.
8. Ability to dynamically allocate time and resources to resolve immediate
and urgent issues.
9. Ability to take direction and work independently.
10. Oral communication skills to give advice and direction to users of widely
varying technical levels.
11. Written communication skills to document problem/project and associated
solution.
12. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
13. Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate using
Possis Talk and Possis Way.
14. Demonstrated customer service skills such as the ability to develop trust
and rapport, a sense of urgency to solve the customer's problem, and empathy
for the customer's situation.
15. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and individually.
16. Ability to work in a fast paced environment
