Job Description:
Expert as a DBA for MS SQL Server 2000,2005, 2008 Knowledge of upgrading from
MS SQL Server 2000 to MS SQL Server 2005 and MS SQL 2008 Working experience
with Windows 2003 and 2008 server, Polyserve, and Windows Clustering Knowledge
of database replication, log shipping, and data mirroring Knowledge and
experience of converting from DTS to SSIS Working experience as a DBA for
Oracle 9i and 10G Knowledge of upgrading from Oracle 9i to Oracle 10G Working
Experience with AIX, Solaris, and Oracle on Windows Knowledge and experience
using Shareplex for replication Knowledge and experience using RMAN for backups
Knowledge and experience using Sybase PowerDesigner to manage database models
Perl scripting to maintain infrastructure scripts Candidate must possess self
motivation and strong communication skills to manage customer relations with
emphasis on verbal communication and problem solving skills.
Knowledge of performance data collection, performance monitoring and
performance improvement.
Knowledge of backups and recovery, Security Administration, Database and Server
Performance Monitoring and Tuning, and Capacity Planning. Preferred Skills:
Provides senior-level consulting services in the identification and resolution
of database issues.
Serve as a high-level resource on database management issues, and participate
in the planning, design, and usage of data resources.
Ability to understand VB and .NET code to assist developers Knowledge of PERL
and SYBASE ASE 15
Hands on experience and an expert for MS SQL Server 2000,2005, and 2008
· Hands on experience upgrading from MS SQL Server 2000 to MS SQL
Server 2005 and to MS SQL Server 2008
· Hands on experience with Windows 2003 and 2008 Server, Polyserve, and
Windows Clustering
· Knowledge of database replication, log shipping, data mirroring
· Knowledge and experience of converting from DTS to SSIS
· Knowledge and experience using Sybase PowerDesigner to manage

· Knowledge of performance data collection, performance monitoring and

Effective communication, independent worker, and leadership skills are key.

· SQL Server 2008 Certification
· SQL Server 2005 migrations
· Primary DBA Support on LOB databases
