Long Term (6 months+) contract
Minimum Requirements: Job Qualifications
. Strong systems analysis, engineering and administration skills
. Strong understanding of middleware technologies and infrastructure management
. 6+ years in middleware administration such as WebLogic, Tomcat, WebSphere MQ,
Vantage Analyzer, Wiley, Documentum, etc.
. 2+ years in UNIX administration and scripting - Shell, Perl, Python and WLST
. Project management skills
. Demonstrated experience in managing critical application(s) using middleware
products
. Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Description: The Middleware Delivery team seeks a Sr. Systems Engineer who will
be responsible for the engineering, roll out, and operational support of
middleware products.
This individual will be primarily responsible for building middleware
environments and delivering to application teams value-add services including
design, performance tuning, capacity management, and systems integration. The
person will also be responsible for promoting standard IT processes and
architectural best practices.
Key to this Position
The key words are: Infrastructure Design, Delivery, and Support.
. Strong system analysis, architecture, design and administration skills. The
position breaks down as follows: 60% hands-on system engineering &
administration, 25% infrastructure design and architecture practices, 15%
leadership: working with support engineers and developers across teams
. Very close to the technology - design, configure and support middleware
products (WebLogic, Tomcat, mValent Integrity, Vantage Analyzer, Wily,
WebSphere MQ, Java, J2EE, Documentum, etc.)
. Strong knowledge of ITIL practices - Configuration, Change and
ReleaseManagement.
. Strong Infrastructure Management background - capacity planning, performance
management and security
Key Activities: As a Senior System Engineer the candidate will have following
responsibilities
. Work on the architecture, design, implementation, deployment, and support of
the middleware Infrastructure
. Evaluate middleware product's features, upgrades and migration path
. Work with platform, operations and application teams to implement middleware
infrastructure standards, best practices and guidelines
. Conduct Infrastructure configuration tests by developing test plans, scripts
and presenting results
. Provide technical leadership and mentoring, promoting adherence to
standardized IT processes, strategic principles and architectural standards
