They recently brought on a contractor that is not ideal -- they are looking for
ideal...
Responsibilities: Support, develop and maintain a critical real-time trading
system (Flextrade). Interface with business users to provide support, capture
requirements and; provide solutions.
Description: Minimum 2-5 years strong experience supporting and maintaining
mission critical software, particularly for program trading, including
enhancing large-scale, client/server, mission-critical real-time trading
applications and systems infrastructure.
Technical Skills: Demonstrated experience with Flextrade is required.
3-4 years of experience with Unix/Linux is required, with particular emphasis
on shell scripting (csh, ksh, or sh) and Perl. Experience with FIX 4.0 and 4.2.
Familiarity with Windows NT/2000/XP with particular emphasis on Microsoft
Excel, Excel VBA, SQL and Sybase (or comparable RDBMS)
Programming skills in one of the following languages is mandatory: Java, C or
PERL.
Additional required skills:
Highly-motivated with a proven ability to work productively within a team
environment.
Ability to perform well under intense pressure.
Strong problem diagnosis and problem solving skills.
Ability to react quickly and efficiently under time constraints.
Ability to proactively provide innovative solutions. Ability to clearly express
ideas and proposed solutions.
Excellent communication and written skills.
Education: BS/BA in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering
