Oracle DBA with SQL DBA OR SQL DBA with Oracle DBA
$45/hour on W2
9+ months
Investment Banking is key. Primary skills is Oracle with Oracle RAC. SQL is
secondary, and Sybase is not required
Desciption:
a.. Local and remote (phone) management for 24/7 prod/qa/dev database
environment
a.. Primary escalation point for all database questions, problems and
policies
a.. Distribute and oversee projects and tasks issued to the dba team
a.. Review deployment documentation and assign resources for completion
a.. Monitor, document and report on database related projects and tasks
Implement and monitor security policy
a.. Create, document and implement team standards (ie: account creation,
monitoring, deployments, etc.) Interact with upper management regarding
application support and incident review
a.. Handle administrative functions (ie: timesheet approvals, project/budget
crosschecks, etc.)
Technical:
a.. Primary dba for SQL Server 2000-2005 environment
a.. Primary dba for Sybase 12.0-12.5 environment (Windows and Solaris)
a.. Primary dba for Oracle RAC environment
a.. Provide 24/7 support for all database servers
a.. All standard maintenance tasks for Oracle, Sybase SQL Server environments
(ie: backups, object cleanup, storage management, etc.)
a.. Build and maintain DR solutions for all environments to be confirmed with
periodic testing
a.. Troubleshoot and document database related issues Assist with
physical/logical database design questions
a.. Review and plan patches and upgrades
