Position: BA/QA/Technical Writer
Location: New York

Rate: $40-45/hr DOE

Duration: 6 Months

 Requirement: 

SCOPE OF SERVICES  

A Technical Writer consultant with a strong business analyst background is 
required to support the development of the new B-FIRST system with technical 
documentation efforts.  The consultant will be responsible for the following 
tasks:

·        Create clear, accurate technology manuals, user manuals and project 
documentation from information obtained from the team and subject matter 
experts.

·        Create business and technical requirements documentation 

·        Generate project level documentation (i.e. use cases, design, status 
reports, Help files etc) based upon input from project teams 

·        Establish documentation templates and protocols utilizing best 
practices. 

·        Work closely with various cross-functional teams throughout the 
organization 

·        Work independently on provided goals and meet deliverable targets 

·        Writing Test Cases and performing Testing as needed

 

 MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE 

 

Candidates should have a minimum 5 year experience with each of the following 
criteria:

 

 ·        Experience in writing project documentation as well as the related 
publishing methods 

·        Excellent writing and editing skills, attention to detail, ability to 
self-edit. 

·        Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, 
Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) 

·        Able to pick up in project mid-stream to assist team(s) with 
completing existing efforts, and within some technical constraints and design 
choices. 

·        Experience not only documenting with traditional web-based platforms, 
but also with windows- and/or mobile-based platforms. 

·        Writing Error Message and Help messages 

·        Writing and Publishing Help documentation, preferably with tools such 
as HTML Help or RoboHelp 

·        Experience with writing Test cases and performing testing. 

·        Sensitive to deadlines and able to multitask 

·        Strong analytical skills 

·        Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and listening) 

            

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

·        Experience in using XML documentation framework. 

·        Experience in using Adobe FrameMaker 

·        Experience with any version control mechanism(ex: Subversion or VSS) 
to maintain the documentation 

·        Ability to read and understand deep technical documentation is a plus 

·        Knowledge of HTML, XML and additional web technologies like CSS and 
JavaScript 

·        Experience in Information Architecture, Usability and/or Interaction 
Design
