Location: NYC Term: 6-12 Months In addition to the core skills shared in the original requirement, we need a Java / J2EE architect that has at least 1-2 projects experience in handling large data volume apps with an architecture that has old traditional way of handling large volume data w/o any data layers like Hibernate etc. They have tons of back end Stored Procedures that pumping large data result sets that this architecture should be able to handle with optimized performance. On environment front, their back end is SQL Server which they are migrating to DB2 and hence the experience on these DBS’ is important. They will ask good questions on database connecting pooling, core SQL areas like indexing, optimized query etc … The other app is a large reporting app with Java Reporting Framework (BO / Cognos) with huge data. So, they need somebody with reporting background (within Java based architecture) in a large DB environment. For your ready reference below is the original requirement : Java Architect ( 1 Position): The roles is of an Java/J2EE Architect with strong hands-on development experience. Should have expertise in web-application development, workflow development and user interface design for applications that consume large datasets. Adept in all phases of SDLC lifecycle from independently gather requirements from finance users and creating generic designs/frameworks to final deliverables. Past experience working on reporting platforms and creating authoring frameworks is a plus. Excellent communication and team collaboration skills when dealing with multiple team members in various locations.
