Senior Application DBA with dev/design experienceLocation:NY Duration:6 MONTHS*Rate: Competitive* *Note: Send the profiles those have design and Development exp along Data Model Exp.................Please discuss with your consultant before sending the profile...........* looking for a consultant to fill a Senior Application DBA role for a period of six months. The person must have experience working with Oracle DBs on projects with these attributes: business-critical, high transaction volume, large quantities of data, multiple applications with differing needs, aggressive schedule, and a matrix team. The person will support a large commerce initiative currently underway at company. The initiative has a number of application tracks all developing components of the overall commerce solution (web site, ecommerce, identity, billing, legacy integration, etc.). Application tracks are working with different software packages and are in different stages of development. Application tracks may or may not share Oracle instances. They needs a Senior Application DBA to support all of the application tracks for our commerce initiative. The Senior Application DBA will be part of the development community and will support the application tracks through development and quality assurance. The Senior DBA will be asked to troubleshoot and support existing databases as well as come up with basic development and design solutions. *Skills* *Environment* · Experience with Oracle 10 & 11 · Knowledge of XA · Experience creating/managing PLSQL, stored procedures and triggers · Experience with Linux · Knowledge of connection pooling, JDBC, and Oracle Networking *Data Models* · Strong understanding of Relational Theory · Experience developing and/or working with logical and physical data models · Experience creating and managing schema definition · Experience using Oracle facilities to maintain data integrity *Performance* · Experience addressing database performance · Knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures with database tuning · Experience interpreting query plans and using the results to tune the SQL/schema · Experience monitoring Oracle to identify the most expensive queries · Experience writing high-performance SQL · Experience with Oracle facilities that can help address performance *Operational* · Experience installing and configuring Oracle · Experience troubleshooting; migrating, upgrading and administering Oracle · Experience with patching and patch analysis · Understanding of Oracle Data Guard · Understanding of partitioning and its impacts on replication and archiving. *Personal* · Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills · Proven ability to work in a high-energy, collaborative environment *Responsibilities* Work with our corporate system DBAs to: · Understand Dow Jones standards set forth by our corporate DBAs · Work with DBAs to understand system and application DBA roles and responsibilities · Agree on process in areas overlapping the system / application DBA boundaries · Install, configure, patch and administer QA instances of Oracle when needed Work with our community of IT software professionals to: · Optimize schema, balancing multiple demands: performance, application, integrity · Tune Oracle Server for performance · Tune overall system for performance (connection pools, threading, net) · Monitor SQL, analyze SQL, and tune SQL (optimize developer-written SQL) · Troubleshoot problems in non-production environments · Install, configure, patch and administer development instances of Oracle when needed · Assist in creating a process for managing database builds and data patches · Create database builds and data patches (using process) · Participate in non-functional testing (performance, failover, backup/restore) · Document: developer guidelines, performance tips, configuration, DB build process -- Thanks and Regards, SATYA CAPS innovative Solutions Inc Phone:408/212/0891 408-329-4051 Mailto: [email protected] Website: http://capsinnovative.com --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "IT provider" group.
