Position: J2EE Application Developer Location: Albany, NY Duration: 18 Months Rate: Open Must be GC/Citizen/EAD or OPT Face to Face Interview Required Need 2 references Project Description: Client has developed the myBenefits and myWorkspace web applications, which allow public users the ability to apply for Food Stamps benefits online or with the aid of a community partner, and allow local district workers the ability to process electronic and paper applications by updating data and sending required data to the Unisys mainframe and other web based applications. MyBenefits and myWorkspace are java applications using a Struts and Hibernate framework that currently communicate with the Unisys mainframe via MQ messages and the IBM WebSphere Message Broker. The applications are planned to communicate with other systems, and may use other integration technologies such as web services. An individual is being sought to fulfill the following roles that support cross-platform application and database interoperability between myBenefits/myWorkspace and other applications. 1. J2EE application developer 2. Services developer 3. Broker developer - Ability to create and maintain message flows 4. Mentoring of other staff on integration related tasks as needed. Current applications utilizing the message broker use either WebSphere MQ or Web Services for connectivity. These are anticipated to continue to be the primary connectivity technologies. The use of XML is prevalent within the Broker. Use of Java is also present both as part of Java Compute Nodes and some supporting code. The development environment utilizes Rational RSA/RAD, ClearQuest and ClearCase. Required Skills/ Mandatory: Minimum of 2 years experience with writing application software, data analysis, data access, data structures, data manipulation, databases, design, programming, testing and implementation, technical and user documentation, software conversions; environments include but are not limited to mainframe, mid range, personal computers, laptops. Minimum of 2 years experience in a particular technical and/or business application which is beyond the requirements listed above (Examples include but are not limited to: Certified Network Engineer (CNE)/ Lotus Notes Certified Application Developer/ Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)/ PC Computer Designer/ Web Master) Four or more years experience JAVA programming Three or more years experience in EJB development and transaction management programming in a complex, large-scale environment involving the integration of J2EE applications with other environments, including legacy mainframe environments. Two or more years experience with integration technologies including XML, XPDL, BPEL, SOAP, and WSDL Two or more years experience developing JSP/ Servlets and in the use of STRUTS framework.
