Business Analyst/ Data Consultant NYC Duration: Long Term Rate: Need Daily Rate not Hourly Face to Face is Must Financial / Trading Exp. is Must Job Description The client is recruiting a Business Analyst/Data Consultant to support the Product Operations department on a multi-year project to launch a new options trading system. The Product Operations department is operationally responsible for listed options. The department also provides member firm (broker-dealers) with access to the company's trading system. Responsibilities to include: a.. Write functional and procedural documents relating to the treatment of reference data. The audience for these documents consists of developers, project team members, and department colleagues. b.. Provide technical data specification documents for the Development team. c.. Create external member communications to provide information about the process by which member firms will gain access to the new trading system d.. Create project plans including implementation strategy for the Product Operations Department. e.. Participate in project planning meetings as functional Product Operations expert/representative. f.. Manage and execute the data conversion & maintenance process in support of the mission-critical testing and production rollout phases g.. Additional assignments/tasks as assigned Required Experience Experience Required/Results Expected: a.. At least 6 years experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in equity or derivatives trading technology for an exchange or a brokerage / financial firm b.. Significant knowledge of options is strongly preferred c.. Project experience for a major enterprise-wide project, preferably relating to a trading platform or system implementation. Working knowledge of Microsoft Project is preferred. d.. Data migration/data conversion experience strongly preferred. e.. Self starter/quick learner as the consultant will be required to learn the current platform as the baseline for the project f.. Keen attention to detail g.. Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal h.. Dynamic personality with ability to attain buy-in from key stakeholders as well as multi-task i.. This is an immediate start contract position with an end date of May 2011.
