I have an immediate need for a Sr. Performance Engineer in the Northern California (South Bay and not in SF). Out of state candidates ok, but I prefer local candidates. Call me with any questions! Communication, both written and verbal is very important! LOCAL CANDIDATES: Will have a phone screen on Tuesday, 7/21 (1 hour) and a face to face interview on Wednesday, 7/22 (1 hour). OUT OF STATE CANDIDATES: Will have a phone screen on Tuesday, 7/21 (1 hour) and a 2nd phone screen on Wednesday, 7/22 (1 hour). Title: Sr. Performance Engineer Length: 6 months Pay rate: $45/hr C2C. Start date: August 10th Location: San Jose, CA Position: Sr. Performance Engineer Overview of Project: The end Client is doing a performance benchmark of a new release of their product. They are doing a newer release within the next month or so. They have done testing once on Sun Solaris, and will now be doing the testing on Dell Linux Redhat. Description: Responsible for ensuring that the highest performance engineering standards are adhered to throughout the software development lifecycle. Specifically tasked with reviewing software requirements and design, designing and running benchmark tests, analyzing performance data from such tests and directing development to solve issues revealed in such testing. Skills: . Analyze requirements specifications and identify specific performance & scalability test points within the software. . Execute detailed benchmarks and performance tests to cover performance and scalability under load. . Generate/assemble test datasets to support performance testing. . Using the software tools available, automate load/stress testing activities. . Automated Test Tools experience with Segue Silk Performer and LoadRunner is a MUST! . History of team participation with development staff in requirements/design validation activities. . Demonstrated ability to successfully plan and execute effective end to end product testing, on time. . Excellent oral and written communication skills . A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (advanced degree is a plus) . 2-4 years of performance and scalability testing experience . 2-4 years of software product development responsibilities as developer, development lead or in management . Working knowledge of Windows, Linux and UNIX operating systems (They should be able to do basic LINUX commands.be able to log into the Linux machine, check to make sure that they're running, monitoring tools, etc) . knowledge of database performance diagnostics and tuning, especially for Oracle and/or MS SQL Server is a huge plus!
