Location: Detroit, Michigan Duration: 6+ Months Best rate: $55/Hr Best Local Candidates preferred. Need to be US Citizens only for this one! DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Ø The duties that will be regularly performed by the J2EE/WebSphere Engineer will include, but are not limited to the following: Ø Assessment of Existing WebSphere App/Web Tiers on Solaris Ø Implementation of WebSphere App/Web tiers on Suse Linux Ø Assessment and recommendation for Scalability, Performance and Availability of WebSphere stack in a Network Deployment Ø Migration of WebSphere J2EE based application from Solaris to Linux Ø Assess application migration impact due to change in J2EE, Servlet, EJB specs and the differences resulting from App Server version upgrade, and recommend migration paths. Ø Resolve any issues with migrated J2EE applications. Ø Some Hardware infrastructure expertise Ø System documentation REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE: This role is an extremely hands-on, as he/she will be the "go to" person for problem resolution. Ø Overall 8-10 years of IT experience. Ø Minimum of 5-7 years experience with WebSphere App Server - in a business environment including design and development of J2EE based application. Ø Experience with high availability WebSphere 5x, 6x deployments supporting custom application code and third party applications. Ø Hands on experience with Rational Application Developer for WebSphere. Ø Hands on experience with Servlets and EJB development, trouble shooting. Ø Solid understanding of J2EE technologies (e.g., JNI, JDBC, JMS, JNDI, JTA, JAAS, etc.). Ø Work experience with various frameworks like Spring, MVC, iBatis, Hibernate etc. Ø Experience with Solaris and Linux (Suse Linux is important), Shell scripting. Ø Development experience with Oracle Database 9i, 10g, (SQL, PL/SQL etc.).
