Senior Business Systems and Testing Analyst Job Description Title Role Senior Business Systems and Testing Analyst A Senior Business Systems and Testing Analyst will lead the business analysis and testing processes and collaborate with project teams in the delivery of software solutions for TCM Technology Services and our trading partners. It is the primary accountability of this role to translate stakeholder needs into system requirements, identifying test scenarios, creating test plans and executing associated test cases. Lead project teams with developing or modifying highly complex information systems. The Senior Business Systems and Testing Analyst are key players in maintaining positive working relationships between Annuity Services, Technology Services and our Trading Partners. Responsibilities/Activities Identify and propose process improvements for increased efficiencies. Will prepare presentation with data and fact to gain support for the proposal. May be asked to lead the implementation of the proposal and support leadership in managing the change. Business Systems and Testing Analysis - Under minimal supervision . Meet with TCM business units and business partners to understand issues to be resolved or opportunities to be realized. . Facilitate the elicitation and documentation of business and functional requirements via Business Requirements workshops. . Use modeling techniques and tools to create intuitive depiction of current and future state business processes, system flows, or activity diagrams. . Capture, prioritize, quantify and articulate the stakeholder needs. . Collaborate with project team to determine best possible solutions. Ensure the design addresses business issues to be resolved and it aligns with long-term business initiatives. Play a key role in developing new or revised business processes/procedures in lieu of system development. . Carry-out the Assessment (high-level analysis) process for project requests, production problems, product features, etc. . May lead complex projects and provide leadership and mentoring to project teams in all areas of business systems and testing analysis. . Responsible for all artifacts and tasks produced in the Requirements discipline of the Rational Unified Process (RUP). . Create requirements documentation including, but not limited to Scenarios, Use Cases, Models, Activity Diagrams, spreadsheets, Supplementary Specifications, and user interfaces such as screen mock-ups, reports, letters, extracts. . Identify Services Oriented Architecture (SOA) Integration/Services requirements. May translate business data to ACORD compliant data model . Perform analysis and documentation needed to support the exchange of internal and external information to AEGON for moderately complex projects. . Able to independently collaborate with various technical staff members to determine possible solutions and communicate business and system impacts to IT and Operations staff. Lead and participate in business requirements workshops. . Contribute to and review project plans and design documents. . Responsible for assigned test activities including, but not limited to defining test plans, creating test cases, identifying expected results, executing test cycles, and troubleshooting cycle problems . Identify opportunities for use and and/or development of automated testing. Responsible for utilizing automated testing in lieu of manual data entry and data validation. . Identify regression test cases and ensure appropriate cases are included within the regression baseline . Effectively perform root cause analysis for discrepancies found in expected results. Will submit defect tickets to appropriate resource and work with technical staff in the resolution of the ticket . Lead and participate in test plan reviews and test status meetings . Define and develop information to support the decision-making process on projects. Provide recommendations regarding issues, processes and procedures both internally and externally. Has the ability to professionally present recommendations in an appropriate format. . Provide leadership regarding problem resolution, functional level decision-making, communications and other associated activities during all phases of complex projects. . Is a subject matter expert on a variety of applications relevant to our business environment. Demonstrate proven expertise and knowledge in technology or operational methods. . Provide leadership and direction to the team to create and communicate comprehensive business requirements, as well as on spec, on-time completion of assigned tasks for system, acceptance, integration and regression testing. . Has a comprehensive understanding of the overall business of the division and company. Competencies/Behaviors . Solid working knowledge of the systems design process and methodology. . Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. . Ability to conceptualize and think creatively. Able to explain complex concepts clearly. . Able to think logically and analytically in a problem-solving environment . Able to work as part of a team but also self-reliant and able to work independently Skills . Require a minimum of 4-year degree in Computer Science or MIS or equivalent education and/or experience. . 6+ years experience within IT preferred. . Annuities (Financial) background or a background in Life Insurance preferred. . Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, Rational suite of tools, automated testing tools, Visio (UML), or Business Process Modeling tool.
