Sr. Java/J2EE Architect
Duties/Responsibilities:
1) Assist with design, development, integration & deployment of application
codes into the WebSphere Application Server (WAS) environment.
2) Support and enhance application build and deployment scripts/tools.
3) Perform application diagnostics including code review to recommend
application and infrastructure tuning and fixes.
4) Monitor application and infrastructure performance; perform WAS
installation, configuration, tuning and testing, and capacity management.
5) Support of application development and infrastructure projects requiring
WebSphere Application Server (WAS) technology and J2EE technology.
6) Develop best practices, standards and guidelines for maintaining and
operating the WAS environment and its peripherals.
Daily Tasks:
1) Incident and problem analysis & resolution
2) Work with Bus. Teams to clarify project and support needs.
3) Work with Development Team to guide application deployment, integration,
and testing.
4) Plan for, coordinate, and perform WAS infrastructure upgrades and
improvements.
5) Simultaneously coordinate multiple, diverse projects and activities
Minimal Job Relevant Knowledge
1) Expert knowledge of J2EE application architecture, design, and programming
tools. Minimum 5 years J2EE experience.
2) Experience with Cruise Control, CVS, Subversion, and WebSphere Application
Server.
3) OOA and OOD experience with understanding of architecture and design
patterns.
4) WebSphere Java Management Extensions and Jython or JACL Experience.
Required Skills
1) Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
2) Competent development skills using: Java/Jsp/HTML/SML and other Sun web
technologies.
3) Demonstrated expertise in Object-oriented application architecture, design,
and development.
4) Significant experience utilizing industry standard web development
frameworks (STRUTS, JAAS, FOP, Batik, etc.)

UNIX Admin expereince.
Able to explain complex issues in non-technical terms.
