Must be GC/Citizens/EAD Business Objects Developer Required Location: Houston, TX - Locals Required Duration: 6 Months Contract - extendable - 6+ Years experience required Rate: $35/hr - W2 Job Description: Developer role reports to the NGL Delivery Manager and is responsible for: a.. Development / enhancement of BO reports and environment b.. BO Universe development c.. Develops report specifications / detail design documents. Codes, tests and debugs reports. d.. Develops prototypes from functional specifications e.. Assists users in testing, preparation for operations f.. Work directly with the NGL users to train, support, demonstrate and create reports g.. Production support of existing reports may be required h.. Enhancements to existing reports and/or universes Education B.A. or B.S. preferred General/Personal Competency a.. Strong communicator with both business users and IT staff b.. Rigorous attention to detail and ability to apply standards thoroughly c.. High self-motivation and delivery focus d.. An understanding and awareness of BI / Reporting technology e.. Pro-active in identifying and resolving issues f.. Strong problem solving skills g.. Strong organizational and time management skills h.. Excellent team working skills Industry Competency a.. Energy trading experience - NGL Preferred Technical Skills a.. Minimum of eight (8) years total experience with a minimum of four (4) years current experience designing & developing Business Objects universes and reports b.. Experience with multiple RDBMS platforms (Oracle, MS/SQL, Sybase) c.. Strong SQL skills d.. Ability to accurately estimate report development work e.. Ability to make correct design decisions for report development f.. A demonstrated record of success in the development and implementation of application systems in a high availability and reliability environment g.. Experience with large data warehouse data models Strongly Preferred: a.. Understanding of Business Intelligence best practices b..
