Job Description: We have direct manager contact and there are very few firms that are working on it. This is a great growth opportunity for a candidate as client is growing rapidly. Must be on EAD, Green Card, or US Citizen as this is a 6 month contract to hire position - so they will need to convert in 6 months. Also, must have solid skills in Data Modeling and SQL. Client is offering an exciting opportunity to get involved in the early stages of data warehouse development. This role will be responsible for technical leadership of the design, development, testing and deployment of Client data warehouse and data mart solutions. This person will work closely with various functional teams to translate business requirements into optimized data storage systems and design/develop appropriate dimensional modeling and ETL processes. This hands-on technical leadership position develops and implements systems to meet the information reporting needs of the business, including Data Warehouses, Decision Support systems and other Reporting Systems. This position will also contribute to the development of the data warehouse strategy including being involved in project management of initiatives, all phases of the systems development life cycle; resolution of issues with existing systems; and providing technical guidance to other team members. Responsibilities: . Strong leadership skills with the ability to adapt to challenges/changes and to mentor team members . Work effectively with internal business and technical stakeholders including ability to present technical solutions while showing a strong understanding of business activities and objectives. . Develop high level and detail designs for Operational Data Store (ODS), data mart and data warehouse projects . ETL development including creation of data mappings and workflows, jobs scheduling, maintenance and enhancement of custom ETL code . Create system documentation including, but not limited to, source to target data mapping, database design diagrams, programming specifications, etc . Develop system test plans and test cases . Provide technical support for the enterprise data warehouse, including the development of enhancement requests and defect resolution Qualifications: . 5+ years experience in data warehouse development and 2+ years in a technical leadership capacity . Experience developing ETL code using DataStage (Ascential), experience with Power Designer data modeling, Cognos BI tools preferred, Sybase IQ experience a plus . Degree in Computer Science and multiple years related work experience. Knowledge/experience with data warehousing concepts such as data modeling, data quality, SCD, ETL . Knowledge/experience with both Entity Relational Models, and Dimensional Models . Strong understanding of the ETL tools and their use . Working knowledge of the Business Intelligence (BI, OLAP, ROLAP) tools . Extensive experience with SQL and ability to develop complex schemas . Experience with UNIX/Linux-based server platforms and shell script development . Excellent communication skills . Strong analytic and problem solving skills .
