The supported systems are in both Assembly and Production environments with many running Mission Critical applications with a strong emphasis on proactive management. The group supports IBM and HP Blades which will provide a fantastic opportunity to gain experience of cutting edge technology. JOB SPECIFICATIONS - ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE a.. Provide day to day technical support for the VMware based Virtual Infrastructure, UNIX and Windows environments. b.. Provide resource to project initiatives involving VMWare/Unix systems. c.. Taking full responsibility for stable operation of systems d.. Capacity and Performance monitoring and management for the VMWare/Unix environment e.. Liaison with developers, applications support, end user services/project managers Key Skills a.. Strong understanding of virtualization principles b.. ESX installation, configuration and support c.. Virtual machine creation, cloning, configuration d.. Cluster configuration e.. Virtual Centre usage f.. P2V techniques and tools g.. Resource pools and management h.. ESX command line i.. SAN storage, VMFS, etc j.. Networking, VLAN k.. Snapshoting l.. VI troubleshooting m.. Performance Analysis and Tuning/Optimisation Operations n.. Review and/or Problem Resolution Procedures o.. Windows server administration p.. Methodical and logical fault finding q.. Knowledge of SAN Storage particularly EMC r..
