POSITION: Network Engineer/Senior Network Administrator Networking (Admin)-Senior Rate: $30/hr Max on C2C Location: St. Louis, MO Duration: 6 - 12 + months REPORTS TO: GIS Hardware & OS Engineering Lead DESCRIPTION: This position is part of a solutions planning & engineering team that works closely with other Architecture and support teams to develop comprehensive infrastructure solutions. This position requires an extensive background in networking technologies, with a demonstrated ability to execute well thought POCs to develop and implement solutions in a global, mission-critical environment. A background in various Cisco platforms will also be a key in this position. Candidate Requirements and Responsibilities: Must possess the ability to comprehend and deploy new advanced technologies under time constrained conditions. Act as project leader for projects with varying budgets and duration. Must be competent to work alone at the highest level of systems analysis, design, and implementation while providing direction and guidance to less experienced staff. Strong background in working with Internet, corporate LAN/WAN and telephony services in a highly available environment. Support technical design, implementation and troubleshooting Cisco IPT (VoIP) networks. Competent in Enterprise campus routing/switching, WAN routing in a multi-provider environment, Quality of Service, Multicast, and application load balancing. Skills: Requirements gathering for the design analysis, testing, documentation, development, and implementations of new technologies. Knowledge of network transmission principles, IP networks, wireless, routing and quality of service fundamentals are mandatory. A thorough knowledge of WAN technologies, circuit fundamentals, customer applications and troubleshooting techniques is also essential. Advanced understanding of Cisco equipment including Content Switching Modules, SSL Modules, WAAS, Catalyst 6500 and 4500, VPN concentrators preferred. Knowledge of multicast environments to support multiple technologies such as video, prepositioned content, etc. Knowledge of advanced web environments that include multi-tier implementations, load balancing and SSL termination. Preferred Experience: Cisco Enterprise Class routers and switches. TCP/IP, IEEE 802.3/.5/.11, VLAN and MPLS fundamentals. EIGRP, OSPF and BGP routing protocols. VoIP including Cisco Communications Manager (CallManager) and/or Cisco Unity. QoS in a Campus and WAN Environment. Cisco WAAS Environment. IPSEC/IP-VPN services via routers and concentrators. 5+ years experience supporting WANs, complex routed/switched LAN environments. Specific Certifications: Highly desired Both CCNA and CCDA.
