A client of mine in Jersey City, NJ is looking for a QA lead with ETL and
Data Warehousing experience. Here are the details:
Location : Jersey City, NJ { LOCALS pref }
Length : 6 months +
Description :
Description: A Sr. QA Analyst who can take charge of all QA activities and
act as a responsible and independent individual to strategize, plan,
coordinate with business users and execute the testing activities at the
same time for a Regulatory Reporting System.
Experience and Qualifications:
• 6 - 8 years in a Quality Assurance role with minimum of 3 years of QA Lead
role in large complex and “time box” projects.
• Specialized training in QA methodologies • Knowledge of testing
methodology and test documentation procedures • Knowledge of Quality Center
• Experience in creating test harness, scripts & data validation scripts
using SQL Scripting • Strong Data Warehouse Analytical skills • Testing/QA
certification • Working Unix Knowledge • SQL - ability to create complex
queries, selects and joins • Ab Initio – ETL’s, workflow, troubleshooting
the workflow from extract, transfer to load, ability to run jobs, creating
targets from multiple sources • Operational Data Stores – working knowledge
of • Enterprise Data Warehouse – experience of the DW project lifecycle from
requirements through implementation with extensive experience in managing
data flow testing including control balancing, data transformations •
Business Objects – report generation • Ability to articulate data issues
clearly in writing and during technical discussions & testing strategy and
weekly status presentations.
• Mandatory Insurance experience (any combination of P&C, workers
compensation, Medical Billing).
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the development team,
management, business users, other IT systems owners and DA/DBA group.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written) used
in daily interaction with the Business, CTO and Technical team.
• Be a self-motivating individual and perform independently in a dynamic
environment.
• Be a strong Team player
• Prior experience in top tier consulting firms a plus.
Responsibilities:
• Ability to work independently to perform Detailed Business Process and
Data Analysis.
• Assist Project Managers and Business Analyst in designing and ensuring
overall integrity of the testing strategy • Work with Business Sponsor and
other Business team contacts besides technology leads to determine the
acceptable range for test results and performance • Help design, develop and
implement test plans, scripts, tools using the detailed business
requirements document provided by the Business Analyst and Data analyst •
Work with business and technology leads to identify the appropriate data for
testing, and prepare that data for the test cases • Assist Application
Developers and technical support staff in identifying and resolving problems
• Assess and revise test sequence and scope based upon test results and / or
changes in product design • Coordinate component and system testing with the
appropriate technical team players for the Entrance and exit criteria
besides release management • Document test procedures and findings •
Communicate test results / issues to Project Manager and team in the
appropriate level of detail • Assess readiness and deviation of product /
project performance based upon test results and product specifications •
Perform the tests in both the QA and subsequent environments including smoke
testing in production environment • Establish working relationships with
business and application development project team members • Manage
individual workload and deliver to agreed upon project milestones • Coach /
mentor other team members as appropriate • Demonstrate ability to work in
team environment and help resolve issues • Communicate status / risks to
manager regarding delivering solution on time • Assist with source data
analysis and profiling.
• Spearhead independently to kick off and manage all testing phases
