Position: Project Manager

Location: Pleasanton, CA

Duration: 3+months

Best Rate; $35-40/hr/ on W2

 

Project managers work with both the development team and with business 
stakeholders to ensure that what is being development will match what the 
customer expects and that this development occurs within the expected time 
frame and within the approved project budget.

 

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  a.. Develop strong working relationships in the business and IT community to 
ensure overall project success. 
·        Proactively and aggressively manage expectations with both business 
and IT stakeholders regarding functionality, scope and deliverables. 

·        The ability to manage up, sideways and down on all projects. 
Personally understands all aspects of the project and stays informed on an 
ongoing basis.

·        Responsible for communicating progress and issues to all audiences at 
all levels as required.  Includes maintaining project status updates in the 
Project Portfolio Management tool, Innotas.

·        Initiation, planning, execution, control, tracking/ reporting and 
closure of a project or sub projects from an overall and day to day 
perspective. 

·        Act as a role model by providing leadership and direction for team 
members in areas that affect projects, tasks and deliverables. 

·         Responsible for project Risk Management planning.

·        Ability to roll up his/her sleeves and get involved in the details of 
the project work to ensure the project is moving forward as planned and 
business expectations will be met. 

·        Work on multiple, simultaneous initiatives of which he/ she will apply 
applicable business and technical acumen 

·        Works with business representatives, IT Management and IT development 
and support teams to ensure on time, on budget, quality delivery of technical 
solutions that support the strategic direction of the business and IT. 

·        Uses RUP methodology as a 'best practice' guide throughout the project 
lifecycle. 

·        Participate in the development of cost benefit analyses, associated 
budgets and tracking of actual costs spent vs. budget and regularly reporting 
on project status to management. 

·        Identifying, assessing, prioritizing, managing project risks and 
issues. 

·        Ensuring that applicable regulatory directives are complied with e.g. 
Sarbanes-Oxley, current privacy legislation. 

 

Qualifications:  The following are preferred or desired unless specifically 
stated:

·        5+ years of IT project management experience

·        Bachelor degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business 
Administration or related field. 

·        Desirable for candidates to possess a Project Management Professional 
(PMP) Certificate.

·        Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle, web platform 
knowledge a plus 

·        Experience planning and implementing systems integration and 
development projects 

·        Experience integrating applications across diverse technical platforms 

·        Understanding of client/server and web-based systems architecture 
concepts 

·        SDLC methodologies: RUP, waterfall, RAD, JAD, Agile/Scrum 

·        Strong understanding of emerging business solutions, technologies, and 
delivery methodologies for software development.

·        Working knowledge & experience of: UML, MS Project, Visio, MS Office.

·        Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, negotiating, 
influencing, facilitation, organizational, prioritization, decision making, and 
conflict resolution skills 

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills - able to present 
information, status, and issues in a clear and concise manner with the goal of 
driving to a decision.

·        Excellent organizational and leadership skills 

·        Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast changing environment.

Flexibility and ability to work collaboratively within a matrix environment.
