Proven results in design, develop and implementation of data warehouse and business intelligence in a variety of industries. . 10+ years experience in database design, ETL data warehousing techniques, data mining (OLAP), and reporting to be able to help our fast paced team implement strategic features and help on tricky customer solutions. . BS in Computer Science or equivalent. . Dimensional modeling & Data Warehousing, recent experience with tools like Informatica, SQL Server, ERWIN, OLAP design and deployment . Business Intelligence (at least 3 of the following): Microsoft, Business Objects, Cognos, Hyperion, WebFOCUS, SAS, Oracle, ESRI, and TeraData. Essential Core Programming Skills: . Solid communication skills, written and verbal . Effective communication with peers and ability to multitask and work in a team environment with a "can-do" attitude . Understanding of the software development lifecycle . Ability to adhere to coding standards and conduct routine code reviews . Mastery of SQL Server Enterprise Components . Ability to debug and troubleshoot technology problems rapidly . Knowledge of operating systems and server platforms (e.g., Microsoft Windows®, Windows® Mobile), and how to develop applications on them . Knowledge of Web based technologies (JavaScript®, JSP®, AJAX®, HTML, ASP.Net®, and XML/XSLT) . Knowledge of Windows technologies (Winforms, C#, Windows Services) . Ability to learn new technologies quickly . Ability to comprehend relational database concepts, program against and build tables in relational databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server®, Oracle®, MySQL®, etc.) . Understanding of the following technologies to help develop N tier enterprise applications: o Microsoft .NET® Framework, Microsoft SQL Server®, Microsoft Access®, C#, C++, XML Web Services, Microsoft IIS, Remoting, J2EE®, Struts, EJB, Java Servlets, Java Server Pages, Apache Tomcat . Understanding of web application and data security . Deep understanding of Microsoft Windows® architecture and system level programming Job Duties: . Share responsibility in the design and architecture of features . Ensure that the proper infrastructure is in place for features . Analyze complexity and level of effort for features . Implement features based on specifications in the most vertical fashion (i.e., UI, business rules, database access layers, external interfaces, and actual database scheme design) . Ensure overall quality of implementation and support features during testing/bug fixing phase of the software development lifecycle . Ensure overall quality of their code within the overall project . Supports and executes based on the direction set by their manager and within the timelines provided . Write and execute unit tests for features being implemented . Conduct/participate in code reviews as required . Participate in daily Scrums and in monthly Sprint reviews and planning meetings as required Qualities/Attributes of an Excellent Software Developer: . Motivated, hardworking, obsessive compulsive about the success of the project . Extremely technically competent and has a very deep understanding of current and future technologies . Is able to take into account adjacent subsystems and other impacted subsystems when changes to the code need to be done . A problem solver and expert who is sought after to resolve technical issues . Approachable by his/her teammates and works well with others . Passionate about their project and their job . Support direction set by manager and helps define it or re-define it when necessary . Passionate about learning new technology and figuring out how to apply it to their project . Always trying to push technology and innovation forward . Methodical in how code is implemented and how problems are solved Challenges: . Getting up to speed on the existing applications, their capabilities, is nothing short of a steep learning curve, and it must be done as quickly as possible to be able to add value .
