Job Title: Websphere Admin Location: Charlotte, NC Duration: 6 months *Job Description:* *Skills and Experience: * WebSphere System Engineer Hiring Requirements The System Engineer is responsible for, designing, building, operating, and supporting WebSphere middleware infrastructure. These WebSphere systems span across multiple platforms including AIX, Linux, and Solaris. The system engineer will work to support both IBM WebSphere Application Server and IBM WebSphere Commerce. The position interfaces with many internal constituents as well as external third parties. *Scope and Additional Information: * WebSphere System Engineer Hiring Requirements The System Engineer is responsible for, designing, building, operating, and supporting WebSphere middleware infrastructure. These WebSphere systems span across multiple platforms including AIX, Linux, and Solaris. The system engineer will work to support both IBM WebSphere Application Server and IBM WebSphere Commerce. The position interfaces with many internal constituents as well as external third parties. *ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:* • WebSphere Application Server 6.x/7.0 – design, install, patch, configure, upgrade, and optimize WebSphere Application Servers in LINUX, AIX, Windows and Solaris environments including web server and web server plug-ins, Job Manager, Administrative Agent, Deployment Manager, and Applications Servers. Perform or support application deployment. • Experience in engineering, maintaining, and managing complex multi-phased implementations of the IBM Sterling Order Management Suite 8.5 • Experience in order management and fulfillment, understanding of order management and fulfillment processes. • Experience in AIX/Unix Virtualization/LPAR/DLPAR, Administration, performance Tuning • Ability to multi task and work with the Vendors • Knowledge of MQ preferable • Knowledge of Oracle RAC or any High Availability solution preferable • Wily Introscope 7.2.3, 8.1, 9.0.X Instrumentation experience, Knowledge of Wily introscope metric analysis and reporting • Knowledge of VMware ESX Virtualization a plus • Performance tuning application server software for optimization (actively involved in load testing and monitoring). • Trouble Shooting and Problem Solving Skills – Be able isolate root cause by tracking down issues from the front-end through different tiers till the satisfactory resolution of the problem. • Participate in on-call rotation. Must be able to concisely and clearly articulate what problems and solutions under pressure. • Able to design and write scripts in shell scripts and Pythons for automating monitoring, data gathering, and other system administration jobs. • Strong communication skills, including good, active listening. • Strong operating systems skills in LINUX, AIX, and Solaris. • Skillful in using Introscope to isolate problems and gauze system performance.
