Job Title: Informix DBA Location: Dallas, TX Duration: 6 months * * *Job Description:* Minimum 8 yrs relevant experience on Database Administration 1. Onsite role as an Informix DBA. 2. Should have worked extensively on Production systems 3. Experience with Database Migration, Installation, Upgrades and Patching 4. Capacity planning and Storage Management Techniques 5. Database Performance analysis and Tuning 6. Experience on HA 7. Backup and Recovery Strategies 8. Managing Alerts and Notifications 9. Cross platform migration 10. Knowledge of Replication 11. Cluster Maintenance (Failover / Fail-back) at the Operating System Level 12. Managing Standby and DR 13. Knowledge in Oracle Database Administration Duties: 1. Provide training to onsite and offshore Oracle DBAs, on differences between Oracle and Informix 2. Analysis and administration of existing databases, versions, compatibilities 3. Analysis of database linkages with applications and other interfaces if any. 4. Database design and creation of new databases for new projects and migration. 5. Implementing database replication methods and working on database restores. 6. Support during cutover process. 7. Performance evaluation of newly created databases in projects area. 8. Proactive measurement and monitoring of databases. Plus: · Familiarity with Oracle Database Administration.
