*Job Title: IT Support Specialist II * *Job Type: Contract 6 months +* *Location: Herndon, Virginia, United States* *Description:* *IT Support Specialist II Prod Supp Responsibilities:* Ø Assist with analyzing and setting up UAT environment for securities application. Ø assist with releases for reminder of 2013 Ø assit and coordinate oracle patches and SPARC 2.0 migrations Ø supplement existing MSP staff in prod support function. Ø Support applications in production. Note interruptions or bugs in operation and perform problem solving exercise to determine problem and ensure continued use of the application. Ø Develop data extractions or develop reports from requests or requirements stated by clients, and to investigate data related issues. Ø Track and appropriately escalate production issues & report periodically to group charged with monitoring uptime and efficiency of production application. Ø Analyze production issues to determine root cause and provides fix recommendations to the development team. Ø Support tasks to include alert monitoring for periodic jobs, opening trouble tickets, general escalation, client coordination, and vendor interactions. Ø Assist with planning and testing of application, configuration and database changes, and installation of upgrades and patches and update production support documentation. Ø Monitor Level 2 issues/tickets opened internally and by customers for application issues. Ø Schedule and monitor nightly jobs.
