Jr. Project Manager/Coordinator Location: Rosemont, IL Duration: 6 months Start: ASAP Interview : F2F Rate: $30-35/HR The Junior Project Manager position is a great opportunity for an individual wanting to enter Project Management as a profession, with light to moderate project management experience. The candidate selected for this position will be responsible for the success of key project initiatives and is expected to develop and execute a development plan in relation to Project Management certifications. The Junior Project Manager will be responsible for working with the Portfolio Manager in support of the Portfolio Governance process and gating of projects. Eventually it is expected that the Junior Project Manager can assume responsibility for some of the projects themselves, which will be outlined as a part of the development plan and will be an opportunity for promotion into Project Management. The Junior Project Manager may also coordinate project activities and deliverables under leadership of their Manager or other Project Managers on the team. They may be responsible, in full or in part, for any deliverables outlined by the Manager or Project Managers to achieve project objectives and complete other tasks as assigned by the Manager or Project Managers. Job Responsibilities: · Supporting the portfolio manager in tracking and recording projects as they move through the Gating process. · Assisting in the gathering and reporting of portfolio/project status. · Assisting in meeting management (scheduling, meeting minutes, follow-up on action items). · Assisting in the development and maintenance of project schedules. · Assisting in the coordination with other organizational entities to identify and monitor issues, impacts and dependencies. · Supporting the project managers in project planning activities such as Scope Definition and Management (WBS, Project Change Control, Scope Document), Risk Management, and Communication Management. · May serve as project manager for small scale internal projects. Job Requirements: · Associate degree or equivalent work experience in a software development environment. · Strong Communication (oral and written) skills. · Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint with advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint a strong plus. · Solid interpersonal and relationship management skills. · Strong detail orientation. · Strong relationship management skills with Users and third party vendors. · Solid organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities as guided by management. · Accountability for plans and conducts assignments with regular management review. · Good problem-solving skills. · Experience with meeting planning, facilitation and public speaking. · Strong follow up skills · Experience with project management tools such as MS Project preferred.
