*Overview:*
The system engineer will provide operational and development support for
batch and online components of a system and the batch content loading
components for a proprietary application. Candidate will work on projects
for long- term sustainability to move components from the mainframe
environment to a Unix/Linux environment. Move display file content and
processing from the mainframe to Unix/Linux. Provide maintenance and
enhancement support for online components of ongoing quarterly releases of
the software.


*Required Skills:** Advanced skills in IBM mainframe assembler, PL1, C
* Knowledge of and programming experience with MVS Operating System, JCL,
and TSO
* Knowledge of and programming experience with Unix/Linux
* Perl, Unix shell programming experience
* Excellent problem solving skills and debugging techniques
* Experience with batch processing applications

*Required Soft Skills:*
* Excellent teaming and communication skills
* Strong organization skills and ability to learn new things quickly
* Ability to manage and respond to changes in priorities
* Formulation of long term solutions to problems in the Mainframe
environment

*Nice-to-Have Skills:*
* Oracle or other RDBMS
* Familiarity with Jobtrac batch processing and scheduling application
* Experience with VSAM
* Experience with XML and related technologies
