*Title: Data Modeler * *Duration: 12-18 months * *Position Type: Contract* *Location: Greenwood Village, CO* Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents those programs. Highly skilled. Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications programming activities. This position may perform systems analysis functions. *Responsibilities:* Create and document logical data integration strategies for data flows Participate in development and maintenance of data architecture Perform a variety of data analysis and data modeling tasks with limited supervision Work closely with business users to understand and help develop functional and data specifications Develop and present training materials as needed to clarify model meaning and usage Provide functional advice or training and serve as a mentor to less experienced data analysts Establish, maintain and adhere to Client data modeling and data integration standards. Works with IT management to establish and maintain consistent data element definitions across computing environments. *Required Skills:* Strong experience in logical and physical data Must be able to recognize and identify patterns in data relationships Strong database fundamentals and data modeling knowledge Strong experience performing data modeling studies and detailed data model development Strong experience in transforming logical models to physical models including table space, database links, etc.. Strong experience in optimizing database performance Good understanding of operational data store, data warehouse, data marts and cubes Strong SQL and stored procedure background Previous experience in gathering requirements for reporting solutions and data analysis Strong analytical and problem solving skills Good background working with quantitative data Must have the ability to independently identify opportunities for improvement in analytical databases. Excellent oral and written communication skills Advanced analytical skills Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, typically six or more years of solid, diverse work experience in IT with a minimum of four years of experience application program development, or the equivalent in education and work experience.
